WinterWonderGrass Music And Brew Festival Announces New 2017 Colorado Location

The WinterWonderGrass Music And Brew Festival will move to a new city for the 2017 edition of the event in its fifth year. The Colorado edition of WinterWonderGrass 2017 will be held on February 23 – 26 for the first time in Steamboat Springs. Squaw Valley, California will again host WinterWonderGrass Tahoe next March 30 – April 2, 2017.

The first WinterWonderGrass Colorado festival was staged in Edwards before moving to Avon in 2014 where the festival was held through last year’s event at Nottingham Park. The 2017 debut in Steamboat Springs will feature a soon-to-be-revealed lineup of bluegrass musicians as well as a number of Colorado-based craft breweries.

“We have nothing but respect and gratitude for the people and businesses of Avon and Edwards who have supported us on this journey,” said WinterWonderGrass founder Scotty Stoughton. “The move to Steamboat allows us to realize our original vision of a truly integrated music and mountain experience, with on mountain events and a festival site next to the ski hill.”

The weekend of music and brews will begin Thursday, February 23 with a free welcome party featuring a performance by the WinterWonderGrass All-Stars at the base of the Gondola and a mountaintop dinner at Thunderhead Lodge atop Steamboat mountain. The fest will also offer workshops, pop-up bluegrass jams around the mountain and more. Special ski packages, excursions to nearby natural mineral hot springs and late night shows around Steamboat are also planned.
