Mike Campbell & The Dirty Knobs Drop ‘I Remember’ From Forthcoming Album ‘Mission Of Mercy’

Mike Campbell & The Dirty Knobs will release Mission Of Mercy, their fourth full length album, on June 12 via Soundly Music/Thirty Tigers. Out today from the band is the album’s bombastic lead single, “I Remember.”

The latest iteration of the Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers guitarist’s band features Chris Holt on keys and guitar, Lance Morrison on bass and Campbell’s fellow Heartbreaker Steve Ferrone on drums. Mission Of Mercy also features guest appearances from The B-52's Kate Pierson and Morgane Stapleton.

“Mission Of Mercy is an action-packed collection of tunes that continue the vibe we established as well as some new directions in the songwriting. It’s full-throttle Knobs from start to finish and we look forward to playing these live this year,” Campbell proclaimed of the follow-up to 2024’s Vagabonds, Virgins & Misfits.

One of the songs Mike Campbell is especially excited to bring to the concert stage is “I Remember,” the first taste of the forthcoming album. “‘I Remember’ is a song written on the piano instead of the guitar,” explained Campbell. “The Dirty Knobs turned my demo into a great rock track that has an ethereal, jam-like quality to it, which I really like. I can see it being a great song to play live.”

Mike Campbell & The Dirty Knobs return to the road in July for a three-week summer tour. Additonally, Campbell will perform a selection of Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers hits with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra on September 12 at the Atlanta Symphony Hall in Atlanta.
