Hear Willie Nelson Cover Leonard Cohen’s ‘Tower Of Song’

Willie Nelson shared his rendition of Leonard Cohen’s “Tower Of Song.” The cover appears on the outlaw country legend’s forthcoming studio album, A Beautiful Time.

A Beautiful Time is due out via Sony Legacy Recordings on April 29, which happens to be Willie’s 89th birthday. Nelson’s 96th studio album and 17th for the label was produced by longtime collaborator Buddy Cannon. The 14-track LP includes five songs co-written by Willie Nelson and Buddy Cannon along with tunes from such Nashville-based songwriters as Chris Stapleton, Rodney Crowell and Shawn Camp and a cover of the Beatles’ “With A Little Help From My Friends.”

Leonard Cohen wrote “Tower Of Song” for inclusion on his 1988 studio album, I’m Your Man. In 2008, Cohen filled his Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame induction speech with lyrics from “Tower Of Song.”
