Willie Nelson Got Jack Johnson Stoned & Stole All His Money

On September 19 Jack Johnson and his quartet played their first set of the year as part of Farm Aid 30, which took place at FirstMerit Bank Pavilion at Northerly Island in downtown Chicago. Johnson ended his set with the debut of a new original detailing a night he claims to have had with Farm Aid board member and legendary country musician Willie Nelson.

The jokey “Willie Got Me Stoned And Stole All My Money” is about an experience Johnson said happened “a few years back.” Jack read the lyrics off a piece of paper as he delivered the story of that fateful night backed by keyboardist Zach Gill, bassist Merlo Podlewski and drummer Adam Topol.
