Austin City Limits is celebrating six years of the ACL Hall Of Fame with a special retrospective episode airing on PBS January 2nd at 9 p.m. ET. To preview the show, the famed live music television program shared a video of Willie Nelson, Buddy Guy, Robert Randolph and more honoring Texas guitar hero Stevie Ray Vaughan with his song “Texas Flood.”
The late great Steve Ray Vaughan — who got his start playing at the legendary Austin blues club Antone’s and died tragically in a helicopter crash in 1990 — was among the initial inductees in the ACL Hall Of Fame in 2014. That year a host of guitarists jammed on SRV’s blues anthem “Texas Flood.” Along with Willie, Buddy and Robert, the session also included guitarists Johnny Lang, Lyle Lovett, Lukas Nelson and Doyle Bramhall II along with Stevie’s band Double Trouble featuring drummer Chris Layton, bassist Tommy Shannon and session keyboardist Reese Wynans.
