Wilco was among the performers on the May 16 episode of Live From Here hosted by Chris Thile. The Chicago rockers unveiled a new song, “Tell Your Friends.”

The episode was recorded in isolation and also included pre-recorded performances. Thile and the Live From Here house band got things underway with Fiona Apple’s “Shameika” from her recently released album Fetch The Bolt Cutters. Wilco then stepped into the next segment with the debut of “Tell Your Friends” followed by “Everyone Hides” from their 2019 LP Ode To Joy.

Audio of the Thile-led Punch Brothers from Ann Arbor, Michigan in 2009 followed ahead of Chris leading the house band though “Hold On” by Tom Waits. The program then paid tribute to guitarist Marc Ribot (who has worked with Waits) during the happy birthday segment ahead of pre-recorded and pre-pandemic Wilco performances of “Via Chicago” and “Empty Corner,” which along with “Everyone Hides” was taped during a December set for Songkick. Other highlights included Norah Jones‘ cover of Guns N’ Roses’ “Patience” and bits from Tom Papa and The Sklar Brothers. Thile and the house band closed out the episode with Bob Dylan’s “Simple Twist Of Fate.”
