Wilco took a break from their “Tour To Infinity” to swing by Jimmy Kimmel Live on Monday. The Chicago-based band delivered a performance of “Evicted,” the lead single from their recently released studio album, Cousin.
Cousin, Wilco’s 13th album, was produced by Cate Le Bon. The 10-track follow-up to 2022’s Cruel Country arrived last month on the band’s dBpm Records imprint.

“Evicted” is a love song penned and sung by frontman Jeff Tweedy. “I guess I was trying to write from the point of view of someone struggling to make an argument for themself in the face of overwhelming evidence that they deserve to be locked out of someone’s heart,” explained Tweedy in a press release when the single was released. “Self-inflicted wounds still hurt and in my experience they’re almost impossible to fully recover from.”
Wilco added “Evicted” to their live repertoire back in August. The song has been a staple of their concerts ever since.
