While Widespread Panic was joined by Steve Winwood and Randall Bramblett for a bulk on their performance on Saturday night, they still had more guests in store for Sunday’s set. The Georgia rockers kicked off their set with a run of “One Arm Steve,” “Thought Sausage,” “Machine” > “Barstools and Dreamers” and “Pilgrims.” Bramblett, who’s sat in with the band dozens of times since 1998, first emerged for the saxophone spotlight song “Pickin’ Up The Pieces” that followed a rare slow version of “Porch Song.” Bramblett stuck around with his sax for “Old Neighborhood.” Panic then continued guest-less for “Down,” “Greta,” “Pigeons” and “Saint Ex.” Randall returned to add sax to “Up All Night” and “Love Tractor” and busted out a harmonica for “Vampire Blues.”
Widespread Panic’s two-hour set came to a close and climax when the band brought out Susan Tedeschi to add guitar and vocals to a cover of Bill Withers’ “Use Me” that also featured contributions from Bramblett on sax and Kofi Burbridge on keys. Take a listen to last night’s “Use Me” thanks to taper David Dyche’s recording:
