Widespread Panic released pro-shot video of “Goodpeople” > “Dark Bar” > “Goodpeople.” The footage is from WSP’s second of three concerts at Red Rocks on June 24, 2023.
WSP debuted “Goodpeople” on March 26, 2005 during their comeback run in Atlanta after a two year hiatus. The song would later appear on Panic’s 2006 album, Earth To America. The band unveiled “Dark Bar” at Red Rocks on June 28, 2008 in the middle of “Goodpeople” where the song would find a permanent home. “Dark Bar” has only been performed once outside of “Goodpeople” on March 13, 2022 in Vegas where it was paired with “Love Tractor,” as per Everyday Companion.
The “Goodpeople” > “Dark Bar” > “Goodpeople” sandwich during Panic’s 2023 Red Rocks run and saw the band lacing up a tight rendition of “Goodpeople” led by frontman John Bell. Keyboardist JoJo Hermann then helmed the ballad “Dark Bar” before the band ramped things back up into the triumphant conclusion of “Goodpeople.”
