Widespread Panic continues to roll out official video from their recent Red Rocks run with the latest featuring “Disco” from June 25, 2023. The Sunday show was the finale of this year’s three-night stand and marked the band’s 69th consecutive sold-out show at the idyllic Colorado venue.
The instrumental “Disco” dates back 35 years as Widespread Panic debuted the song on August 4, 1988 at Uptown Lounge in their hometown of Athens, Georgia. “Disco” has been in regular rotation ever since — outside of the period between January 31, 1991 and March 14, 1992 — as the band has only gone more than 15 shows between plays five times.

Widespread Panic lit into “Disco” on June 25 after kicking off the show with “Up All Night” and “C. Brown.” Drummer Duane Trucks provided the “four on the floor” beat from which the song takes its name over which keyboardist JoJo Hermann and guitarist Jimmy Herring soloed. Hermann swiftly moved between Clavinet, piano and organ before handing the keys to Herring. Jimmy let the fretboard fireworks fly as Trucks pounded away.
