Widespread Panic‘s three-night stand at The Chicago Theatre has been canceled. The run was previously postponed and rescheduled to February 28 – March 1 due to “unexpected health issues” within the band that “one of our brothers ran into” before the shows were canceled outright.

The Georgia-based sextet did not explain why the Chicago concerts were scrapped. An announcement from Widespread Panic was comprised of a note from operators of the historic venue. Read the full text of the statement below:

Widespread Panic’s first visit to The Chicago Theatre since 2021 was originally set to take place February 15 – 17. The band postponed the concerts the night before the run was slated to start. Next up for Panic is a three-night stand at The St. Augustine Amphitheatre in St. Augustine, Florida March 22 – 24.

The veteran jam act recently shared their first new studio tracks in four years. “Little By Little” was released in January and was followed by “We Walk Each Other Home” last Friday.

In addition to the St. Augustine shows, Widespread Panic has several multi-night runs on the books for the coming months. The band will also return to the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival on April 25, marking their first Jazz Fest appearance since 2019.
