Widespread Panic returned to Savannah, Georgia to launch a two-night Halloween run on Friday. The home state concert at Enmarket Arena saw the band offering an Alice In Wonderland theme, debuting covers and breaking out several tunes.
WSP dressed as characters from Alice in Wonderland for Halloween 2025 including John Bell as The Cheshire Cat, Dave Schools as The Executioner, Duane Trucks as The Queen of Hearts, Domingo “Sunny” Ortiz as The Mad Hatter and JoJo Hermann as The Caterpillar. Guitarist Jimmy Herring and guitar tech Joel Bryon were Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum.
Panic kicked off the concert by breaking out their song “Gradle” (LTP March 4, 2023), which they performed from behind the stage curtain. The first set also saw the debut of Alice in Chains‘ “Down In A Hole” along with break outs of “You Should Be Glad” (LTP 02/09/23) and The Doors' “Riders on the Storm” (LTP 10/24/21).
The second set featured some larger bust outs including “Crazy,” last performed on NYE 2016, and “Free Somehow,” which made its first appearance in 13 years. Set two boasted cover premieres of The Who's‘ “Who Are You,” another Doors tune (“You’re Lost Little Girl”) and Jefferson Airplane's “White Rabbit.”
Widespread Panic had another debut in store for the encore, Soundgarden‘ “Black Hole Sun” ahead of the “Climb To Safety” closer.
