Whitney previewed the “start of a flurry of activity” with the release of their single, “Darling,” signifying the duo’s first new music since their 2023 album, Spark. The duo confirmed details of their headlining Summer 2025 Tour, with support from Folk Bitch Trio on many dates.
Whitney – former Smith Westerns guitarist Max Kakacek and Unknown Mortal Orchestra drummer Julien Ehrlich – formed in Chicago in 2015. The band will spend parts of June and July touring in support of Caamp.
July will also see Whitney embarking on their headlining tour beginning on July 20 in South Lake Tahoe, California. The run continues in Montana and Utah, followed by two stops in Colorado, including meeting back up with Caamp for a night.
Witney heads east at the end of July for performances in Portland, Maine and Burlington, Vermont. August begins with an appearance at Montreal’s Osheaga Festival. Whitney then headlines shows in Massachusetts, Vermont, New York, Maryland, Virginia, New Jersey, Indiana and Ohio, before wrapping the tour on August 15 in Kalamazoo, Michigan.

Kakacek and Ehrlich provided this joint statement regarding the new single, “Darling”:
“There’s something to be said for a 2 minute-or-less gem that aims for the heart. Songs like ‘Gonna Hurry’ by Dolly Parton and ‘Take Care’ by Big Star come to mind—poignantly written goodbyes emphasized by the fact that both songs are over as quick as they started. In the case of ‘Darling’ the song transitions into a second act that serves to accept a goodbye instead of leaving it up in the air, but we think the song ultimately feels like it’s over too soon in the best way possible.”
