Ween Kicks Off Halloween Run In Denver
By Scott Bernstein Oct 31, 2019 • 7:33 am PDT

Ween opened a sold-out three-night Halloween Run at the Mission Ballroom in Denver on Wednesday. The concert was the band’s first headlining gig of 2019 following appearances at the Riot Fest and Desert Daze festivals earlier this fall.
The quintet – consisting of guitarists Aaron “Gene Ween” Freeman and Mickey “Dean Ween” Melchiondo, bassist Dave Dreiwitz, drummer Claude Coleman Jr. and keyboardist Glenn McClelland – treated fans to a 30-song performance last night. Only four of the songs played in Denver on Wednesday were performed as part of their festival sets at Riot Fest and Desert Daze.

Ween pulled equally from 2000’s White Pepper and 1991’s The Pod as six songs a piece from the classic albums made last night’s setlist. The group played plenty of staples but also included a handful of rarities including “I Don’t Want To Leave You On The Farm,” “Flutes Of The Chi,” “How High Can You Fly” and “Up On The Hill.” Wednesday’s show ended with a lone encore of “Piss Up A Rope.”
