What better way for Ween fans to recover after a wonderful weekend from the band in New York City than with the announcement of another show. The newly reunited Ween have just announced the addition of a performance at Philadelphia’s Festival Pier on August 21.

As with all shows this year, Ween’s return to Philadelphia will feature co-founding members Aaron “Gene Ween” Freeman and Mickey “Dean Ween” Melchiondo as well as keyboardist Glenn McClelland, bassist Dave Dreiwitz and drummer Claude Coleman Jr.. Ween’s home state show(s) will take place just about 40 miles from New Hope, the Pennsylvania town where the band was formed in 1984. The show will end a drought of Ween shows in the Philadelphia area that has spanned nearly a decade following the group’s performance at the Tower Theater on November 24, 2007.

A pre-sale for tickets to Ween’s Philadelphia return is currently underway here with the password “BoognishRising.” VIP packages are available via CID Entertainment. The public on sale starts this Friday, April 22 at noon ET.

Ween has played seven shows since reuniting earlier this year including three-night stands in Broomfield, Colorado and New York City. The band rolled through 93 different originals during an outstanding run at NYC’s Terminal 5 over the weekend. Shows announced today come in addition to Ween’s upcoming festival appearances at Austin’s Levitation, Bonnaroo in Tennessee, two nights at Lockn’ and a set at Project Pabst in Portland.
