Bon Iver is currently performing at tour of Europe that included a stop on September 19 at TivoliVredenburg Grote Zaal in Utrecht, Netherlands. The show saw frontman Justin Vernon begin the encore by leading the group through a cover of “A Song For You,” which was penned by the late great Leon Russell.

Vernon had previously incorporated elements of Russell’s 1970 composition into his arrangement of Bonnie Raitt’s “I Can’t Make You Love Me” and “Nick of Time.” The evening in Utrecht featured a complete performance of “A Song For You,” which was followed by a show-closing rendition of “The Wolves (Act I and II).”

Bon Iver reprised the cover of “A Song For You” at their show on September 21 at Salle Pleyel in Paris. The band today announced a return to Europe next February for a five-night residency at London’s Eventim Apollo in Hammersmith.
