This Friday Atlantic Records will issue A Deeper Understanding, the new studio album from The War On Drugs. The band has made the album available to stream for a limited time ahead of its official release and they recently performed songs from LP at a private concert for Bay Area radio station KFOG .
Frontman Adam Granduciel recently led the band through a set of songs at the KFOG hosted Levi’s Lounge. The private performance included takes on A Deeper Understanding tracks “Holding On,” “You Don’t Have To Go” (which has only been played live once before) and “Pain.” Granduciel also discusses how he and the band came to record “Touch Of Grey” for the Grateful Dead Day Of The Dead tribute compilation.
The follow-up to 2014’s Lost In The Dream features 10 new songs that were engineered by Granduciel’s “spirit animal” Shawn Everett. Watch the session for KFOG below and follow this link to The War On Drugs website to stream A Deeper Understanding.
