Video: The Breeders Perform Cannonball On Fallon

’90s alt-rockers The Breeders have been hitting the road hard in 2013 to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Last Splash – an album which spawned an unlikely hit in the Summer of ’93. “Cannonball” may have only hit #44 on the U.S. charts, but that incredibly ear-wormy song and its Kim Gordon/Spike Jonze-directed video was everywhere for a few months.

Twenty years later, the song Pitchfork called the 22nd best track of the ’90s still sounds as fresh as it did during the Clinton Years. Last night The Breeders visited Late Night With Jimmy Fallon, where they performed “Cannonball” for the live and television audience as well as a bonus web exclusive.
