Video | Taz & Band Team With Robert Randolph For Whipping Post

While most focus was on Billy & The Kids at The Capitol Theatre on Friday night, the Grateful Dead drummer’s band wasn’t the only group to perform at the venue. Lions On The Moon, a band filled with young and talented musicians, opened the action at The Cap.

Brandon “Taz” Niederauer, an immensely talented 12-year-old guitarist who’s collaborated with a bevy of legends over the past few years, stars in Lions On The Moon. Taz’s fretboard fireworks were on full display for a cover of The Allman Brothers Band’s “Whipping Post” that featured special guest Robert Randolph. Niederauer and Randolph egged each other on during call-and-response sections of the jam including a massive peak at the end. Watch fan-shot footage of the collaboration thanks to Sean Roche:
