Van Morrison and Eric Clapton joined forces for the forthcoming single, “Stand And Deliver.” Morrison wrote the tune, which Clapton recorded to benefit Van’s Lockdown Financial Hardship Fund. “Stand And Deliver” will be released for download and via streaming services next Friday, December 4.
“There are many of us who support Van and his endeavors to save live music; he is an inspiration,” Eric Clapton stated as per Variety. “We must stand up and be counted because we need to find a way out of this mess. The alternative is not worth thinking about. Live music might never recover.”

“Stand And Deliver” follows a string of three Van Morrison singles released over the past two months in protest to the U.K. government’s restrictions on live music put in place during the pandemic. Proceeds from the Lockdown Financial Hardship Fund will be distributed to musicians suffering in the wake of the coronavirus.
“Eric’s recording is fantastic and will clearly resonate with the many who share our frustrations,” added Van Morrison. “It is heart-breaking to see so many talented musicians lack any meaningful support from the government, but we want to reassure them that we are working hard every day to lobby for the return of live music, and to save our industry.”
