Legendary guitarist Eddie Van Halen died five years and two days after what will likely be the final Van Halen concert. A multi-cam video featuring soundboard audio of Van Halen’s October 4, 2015 show at the Hollywood Bowl in the band’s hometown of Los Angeles recently surfaced.

Van Halen’s North American Tour 2015 included 41 concerts spanning July 5 – October 4. The lineup featured frontman David Lee Roth, Eddie Van Halen on lead guitar, his brother Alex Van Halen on drums and his son Wolfgang Van Halen on bass.

Roth reunited with the Van Halen brothers in 2006. The final lineup of David Lee Roth, Eddie Van Halen and Alex Van Halen was completed when Wolfgang replaced long tenured bassist Michael Anthony. Van Halen recorded one album with that lineup, 2012’s A Different Kind Of Truth. The quartet embarked on lengthy tours in 2007, 2012 and 2015.

Van Halen played 23 songs at the Hollywood Bowl on October 4, 2005 with a focus on material from Roth’s term in the band. 1978’s Van Halen was represented by “Runnin’ With The Devil,” “Ain’t Talkin’ ’bout Love,” “Feel Your Love Tonight” and covers of “Ice Cream Man” and “You Really Got Me.” Additionally, VH performed “Beautiful Girls,” “Dance The Night Away,” “Light Up The Sky,” “Somebody Get Me A Doctor” and “Women In Love” from 1979’s Van Halen II.

The setlist also included Women And Children First (1980) tracks “Everybody Wants Some!!” and “Romeo Delight” plus “Dirty Movies” and “Unchained” off 1981’s Fair Warning as well as “Little Guitars” from 1982’s Diver Down. Plenty of material from 1984 made the cut with “Drop Dead Legs,” “Hot For Teacher,” “I’ll Wait,” “Jump” and “Panama” played at Hollywood Bowl. A Different Kind Of Truth’s “She’s The Woman” was the only song Van Halen released after 1984 performed at the tour closer.

Both Van Halen brothers stepped into the spotlight for solos during the concert. Eddie’s final guitar solo at a Van Halen concert incorporated portions of “Little Guitars,” “Mean Street,” “Spanish Fly,” “Cathedral” and the beloved “Eruption.” Watch the recently shared footage of VH’s October 4, 2015 concert at Hollywood Bowl courtesy of YouTuber Cosmic Designer below:
