Umphrey’s McGee Share Video Of Nirvana’s ‘In Bloom’ At Chucktown Ball

On October 22 Umphrey’s McGee bassist Ryan Stasik will team with Turbo Suit in NYC for a special performance of Nirvana’s Nevermind. Last month, during a three-night stand in Charleston, South Carolina Stasik helped his main band rock a song off the LP, “In Bloom.” TourGigs, who webcast each night of UM’s visit to Chucktown, has shared video of the Nirvana cover from September 26.

Guitarist Brendan Bayliss handles lead vocals on UM’s cover of “In Bloom.” Umphrey’s debuted “In Bloom” on April 29, 2002 and generally perform it about once a year at this point. The Chucktown “In Bloom” was UM’s first since August 30, 2014 – a span of 106 shows. “In Bloom” remains the only Nirvana song the sextet has cover outside of a mash-up featuring part of “Come As You Are.”
