Umphrey’s McGee have added multi-track video stems of a live recording of their new single, “Bad Friday,” to WholeWorldBand personalized music video application. Users of the app can now play along to a recording of the single from the band’s recently issued album, The London Session, complete with an open 16-bar segment for users to add their own soloing work. The resulting recorded video can then be shared on social media.

Umphrey’s offered a few thoughts on the project as well as a promo code to try out a WholeWorldBand session for free. Watch a video of an example of how the app works with the “Bad Friday” stems:

Along with the addition of UM’s video stems,Taylor Hawkins contributed a video session that allows the WholeWorldBand users to play along and create a new song with the Foo Fighters drummer. Like the UM video, the resulting video recordings with Hawkins can be shared by users and monetized by the artist. “I was kinda imagining some sort of song in there, but I want you guys to be creative and think of your own thing,” Hawkins explains in the video.

Roxy Music guitarist guitarist Phil Manzanera also contributed to the latest WholeWorldBand sessions. Making his second entry on the app, Manzanera uploaded video of his guitar performance of the JAY Z/Kanye West song “No Church In The Wild” which sampled Manzanera’s guitar work from his song “K-Scope.” “The whole process is about musical recycling,” Manzanera stated. “And I really hope that you join in that recycling process.”
