Umphreys McGee Nothing Too Fancy Everyday Ale Coming

Chicago’s Umphrey’s McGee is the latest band to give their stamp of approval to a micro-brew, as the sextet has teamed with Rock Brothers Brewing Company, Cigar City Brewing & Boulder Beer Co. to create “Nothing Too Fancy Everyday Ale.”

According to an announcement, “the ale will be smooth and easy on the surface, yet complex and layered at its core.” Nothing Too Fancy Everyday Ale will become available in May in Atlanta, Florida, Chicago and the college town where the band was formed -South Bend. Later, in July, the beer will be rolled out in Colorado.

“The Umphrey’s McGee beer is a sessionable American Wheat with generous amounts of fruity hops, producing a big, juicy hop aroma and a flavor that will be truly unique,” as per Rock Brothers’ Kevin Lilly. Rock Brothers have previously worked on music-themed beers with the likes of Hootie & The Blowfish, JJ Grey & Mofro and Have Gun Will Travel. “We like the authenticity of the Umphrey’s McGee story,” added Tony Casoria of Rock Brothers. “They’ve been making music on their terms for more than 16 years and they’re still going strong. That’s the type of hard work and passion we’re all about at Rock Brothers.”
