Umphrey’s McGee Announces New Year’s Eve 2010 Livestream Broadcast
Umphrey’s McGee will premiere their Ten Years Gone: New Year’s Eve 2010 concert film via livestream. The broadcast begins on Friday, January 1, 2021 at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT through FANS.live and will remain available on-demand for the 48 hours that follow.
Ten Years Gone: New Year’s Eve 2010 features never-before-aired footage of UM’s entire three-set December 31, 2010 show, which took place at Chicago’s Riviera Theatre. Umphrey’s treated fans to over four hours of music at their 11th annual New Year’s Eve concert in Chicago. The streak would end the next year when the sextet moved their end-of-year festivities out of The Windy City for the first time.
Umphrey’s December 31, 2010 performance included the debut of original “Deeper” and first-ever covers of songs by James Brown, The Police, Beck, Radiohead and Stevie Wonder. In keeping with tradition, the band was joined by Mad Dog and his Filthy Little Secret horns for portions of the show. The horn section consisted of Michael “Mad Dog” Mavridoglou on trumpet, Jeff Coffin on saxophone, Chris Neal on saxophone and Brent Sanders on trombone. Additionally, Cody Dickinson of North Mississippi Allstars sat-in on “Slacker.”
Tickets to watch the broadcast are on sale now at FANS. Limited edition merch bundles are also available and include the original Masthay triptych poster, “Wonka” style t-shirts featuring the band’s old school logo, pins and more.
