Umphrey’s McGee Guitarist Jake Cinninger Details Mashups & Gear

Umphrey’s McGee guitarist Jake Cinninger is the latest musician to be profiled by Reverb. The talented musician discusses the making of the band’s upcoming album of mashups ZONKEY and gives a rundown of his guitar rig and the gear he utilizes.

The clip starts with Jaco explaining how the band created “Strangletage” – a mashup of “Stranglehold” by Ted Nugent and “Sabotage” by Beastie Boys – and demonstrating how he developed the tone he settled on for the arrangement of the recording. The rest of the video features Cinninger detailing the pedals and effects he uses with his guitar, providing demonstrations of each along the way.
