The Estate of Tupac Shakur issued a cease-and-desist letter to Drake over his recent Kendrick Lamar diss track, “Taylor Made Freestyle,” using AI-generated Tupac vocals, as Billboard reported. The representatives of the late rapper threatened legal action if Drake does not confirm removal of “Taylor Made Freestyle” from social media within 24 hours.
“Taylor Made Freestyle” was Drake’s response to Kendrick Lamar’s guest spot on Future and Metro Boomin’s “Like That,” taking shots at Drake. According to the cease-and-desist letter, Drake went too far with “Taylor Made Freestyle.”
“The Estate is deeply dismayed and disappointed by your unauthorized use of Tupac’s voice and personality. Not only is the record a flagrant violation of Tupac’s publicity and the estate’s legal rights, it is also a blatant abuse of the legacy of one of the greatest hip-hop artists of all time. The Estate would never have given its approval for this use.”

The letter also took issue with the use of the AI-generated vocals to diss Kendrick Lamar.
“The unauthorized, equally dismaying use of Tupac’s voice against Kendrick Lamar, a good friend to the Estate who has given nothing but respect to Tupac and his legacy publicly and privately, compounds the insult.”
A Billboard exclusive reported the news of the cease-and-desist letter yesterday. At the time of publishing, the Instagram post below was still up on Drake’s account. The track also features AI-generated Snoop Dogg vocals.
