Trey Anastasio Performing With The Roots In-Studio On ‘Fallon’

As previously reported, Phish guitarist Trey Anastasio will be the musical guest on this evening’s (Tuesday, August 11) episode of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. Anastasio revealed he will perform with the show’s house band, The Roots as he becomes the first musician to play at The Tonight Show’s 30 Rock studios since the COVID-19 pandemic began.

“The great Trey Anastasio will be here to perform in-studio,” reads a tweet from the Fallon Twitter account. “It’s our first live performance since coming back to 30 Rock, and we’re doing it carefully and safely… You won’t want to miss it!” A Trey Anastasio Update email confirmed the news Trey will perform with The Roots. Trey last teamed up with The Roots at The Capitol Theatre in Port Chester, New York on September 7, 2012 as part of a HeadCount benefit.

The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon airs on NBC at 11:35 p.m. ET/PT.
