Trey Anastasio Releases New Single ‘Forward People’

Phish guitarist Trey Anastasio shared a new single entitled “Forward People.” The track was shared on the one-year anniversary of the release of Anastasio’s first of several songs recorded during the COVID-19 pandemic quarantine.

Anastasio wrote the words and music to “Forward People,” which clocks in at +14-minutes. The song’s release coincides with the March 18, 2020 release of “Lost In The Pack.” Anastasio went to record and release several additional songs made in isolation at his home studio in New York City he dubbed Rubber Jungle. Initially released on his Instagram account, the songs were written and recorded between March and July during the surge in COVID-19 cases in the New York Metropolitan area and appeared on his solo album, Lonely Trip, which came out in late-July.

Trey shared “Forward People” with a message stating “Hope to see you soon” and a fingers-crossed emoji. Featuring horns and strings, stream “Forward People” below:
