Trey Anastasio Announces Free Livestreams For Beacon Jams 5th Anniversary Concerts

In the spirit of his original Beacon Jams, Trey Anastasio will livestream the upcoming Beacon Jams Fifth Anniversary shows for free via LivePhish.com and Nugs. The sold-out concerts benefitting the Anastasio-founded Divided Sky Foundation take place at the Beacon Theatre in New York City November 28 – 30.

The Beacon Jams Fifth Anniversary shows will see Trey harkening back to the format of the original Beacon Jams — which were streamed for free across eight Fridays in Fall 2020 during the Covid-19 pandemic — with various configurations including the Trey Anastasio Band and the return of the The Rescue Squad strings.

Anastasio used funds raised from fan donations during the 2020 Beacon Jams to found his treatment nonprofit the Divided Sky Foundation. Fans are encouraged to donate once again during the fifth anniversary livestreams with those who donate able to send Trey messages as was the case in the original Beacon Jams.

“The Beacon Jams shows were the most artistically satisfying thing I’ve ever worked on,” Anastasio stated. “They meant so much to everyone involved — not just the audience, but the musicians as well. Everyone was hungry for music and connection, and somehow we found a way to create community in the middle of such a messed-up, isolating moment. Even the name felt meaningful — like we were shining a searchlight into the fog and manifesting something positive out of something so negative.”
