Trey Anastasio Band will perform without a horn section after trumpeter Jennifer Hartswick tested positive for COVID-19. TAB is set to play a concert tonight (Saturday, September 25) at Charlotte Metro Credit Union Amphitheatre in Charlotte, North Carolina.

TAB will appear sans horns for the remainder of the band’s current tour, which runs through a pair of shows at Radio City Music Hall in New York City on October 2 and 3. The band has been performing without regular saxophonist James Casey who is undergoing treatment for colon cancer. Saxophonist Cochemea Gastelum and one-time TAB member, trombonist Jeff Cressman (father of TAB trombonist Natalie Cressman), have filled in for Casey at recent shows on the tour. The current tour is also TAB’s first with new bassist Dezron Douglas who recently replace co-founding bassist Tony Markellis, who died earlier this year.

Anatasio will be accompanied by Douglas, drummer Russ Lawton, keyboardist Ray Paczkowski and percussionist Cyro Baptista for the remainder of the current tour. Anastasio’s note regarding his bandmates indicated JHa is experiencing mild symptoms and expects a full recovery. Read the message from Trey below:
