Trampled by Turtles recorded a cover of Tom Petty’s “Wildflowers,” which was released on Record Store Day in April as a 7-inch vinyl single backed by the title track from their recently issued album Life Is Good On The Open Road. The band has now made their version of Petty’s classic available to stream or download.
“I love music, so it’s so fun to play songs that we love and try to find our own voice in doing that,” frontman Dave Simonett said regarding playing covers during his recent appearance on The JamBase Podcast. The band recorded their arrangement of the title track to Petty’s 1994 solo album at Pachyderm Studio in Cannon Falls in their home state of Minnesota.
