Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers released video of the band covering “Gloria.” The footage is from Petty and company’s 1997 residency at The Fillmore in San Francisco.

Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers’ performance of “Gloria” appears on the 2022 live record — the band’s first in 13 years — Live At The Fillmore (1997), captured during the last six nights of their landmark 20-show residency at the renowned San Francisco venue. The run saw the band delivering a number of covers, including “Gloria.”

The 1964 rock classic “Gloria” was written by Van Morrison while he was in the band Them. The song is famous for its improvised, spoken word middle section and Tom Petty treats the audience to a great one at The Fillmore in ’97.
