Democratic Vice Presidental candidate Tim Kaine’s musical nature has been well documented, particularly with regard to his adept harmonica playing skills. This week’s installment of Saturday Stream features 17 tracks selected by the Virginia Senator and shared by his running mate Hillary Clinton on her official Spotify account.
Kaine’s “Tim’s Favorite Songs” Spotify Playlist has a song by his home state natives Dave Matthews Band, unsurprising considering last month the group’s frontman appeared at a rally with Kaine and in 2009 he performed with DMB’s Boyd Tinsley. That 2009 performance featured a cover of The Carter Family’s “Will The Circle Be Unbroken,” which is on the playlist, as well as a Bob Dylan cover, whose “Buckets Of Rain” is in Kaine’s collection.
Other choice cuts come from the likes of Bruce Springsteen, David Bowie, The Who, Stevie Wonder, Alabama Shakes, The Kinks and more. The only act to make the playlist more than once was The Replacements who are represented by “I Will Dare” off of Let It Be and “Bastards Of Young” off of Tim.
