Fresh off a tour of Europe, Thundercat came to 30 Rock in New York City for a performance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. The bassist and composer delivered “Walking On The Moon” for the late night television play.
“Walking On The Moon” appears on Thundercat’s first full-length album in six years. Distracted arrived on April 3 through Brainfeeder. The record features guest spots from A$AP Rocky, Tame Impala, Flying Lotus, Lil Yachty, WILLOW, The Lemon Twigs and a posthumous collaboration with the late Mac Miller.
The ninth of 15 tracks on Distracted, “Walking On The Moon” is all Thundercat. The performance of the future jazz number on last night’s episode of The Tonight Show exhibited his full range of skills from signature falsetto to virtuosic six-string bass stylings.
