A$AP Rocky swung by NBC’s historic Studio 8H for his musical guest debut on the latest episode of Saturday Night Live. The rapper celebrated the release of his long-awaited fourth album, Don't Be Dumb, with performances of three tracks from the LP.
A fantasy rhythm section of Thundercat on bass and Danny Elfman on drums accompanied A$AP Rocky on the single “Punk Rocky.” The artist, born Rakim Mayers, later appeared in a sketch and performed a medley of “Don’t Be Dumb” and “Helicopter” in the Finn Wolfhard-hosted episode.
The “Snackhomiez” sketch parodied the podcast MDFoodieBoyz and featured the surprise return of Sabrina Carpenter, who reprised her role from the first version of the segment in October. Wolfhard starred alongside Carpenter and SNL cast members Chloe Fineman, Jane Wickline and Veronika Slowikowska, with A$AP Rocky appearing as himself.
