The Who will premiere the new Classic Albums documentary about their 1967 album, The Who Sell Out, via a livestream special in partnership with The Who, UMe and Mercury Studios. The webcast will air on Thursday, April 22nd at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT via

The Who Sell Out documentary comes just ahead of the legendary rockers’ super deluxe edition of their 1967 loose concept album of the same name. The groundbreaking LP — which is presented as a pirate radio broadcast and includes mock ads linking Who classics like “I Can See For Miles” and more — was conceptualized by guitarist and primary songwriter Pete Townshend along with managers Kit Lambert and Chris Stamp.

Grammy-winning director Bob Smeaton directed the documentary set to stream later this month. The Who Sell Out doc features rare archival footage, new interviews with Townshend and vocalist Roger Daltrey among others as well archival interviews with late Who members drummer Keith Moon and bassist John Entwistle.
