The String Cheese Incident continued their March Madness Tour last night with the first show of a two-night stand at The Fox Theater in Oakland, California. The band treated fans in the Bay Area to a sit-in from local guitarist Dan “Lebo” Lebowitz of ALO.
After a first set that included such SCI favorites as “Got What He Wanted,” “MLT,” “Black & White” and the set closing “Can’t Wait Another Day,” the second set got started with Lebo playing acoustic guitar and handling lead vocals on SCI’s debut performance of Jimmy Cliff’s “The Harder They Come.” Lebo stuck around for the subsequent “Let’s Go Outside” before giving the stage back to the band for takes on “Black Clouds,” “Way Back Home” and the final song of the second set “Valley Of The Jig.” SCI offered “Outside And Inside” followed by a cover of U2’s “Mysterious Ways” for the evening’s encore.
The String Cheese Incident returns to The Fox Theater in Oakland again tonight. Here’s audience-shot video of Lebo sitting-in on “The Harder They Come” captured by MrTopdogger:
