The Soul Rebels Announce Special Hip-Hop Show

New Orleans brass band The Soul Rebels have revealed a special hip-hop oriented performance at the Blue Note Jazz Club in New York City on Saturday, June 26 at 12:30 a.m. (Friday night/Saturday morning). The late night concert dubbed #RebelJam will feature several guests, including rappers Rakim, Slick Rick, Prodigy of Mobb Deep, Styles P and Sheek Louch of The Lox, as well as guitarist Eric Krasno of Lettuce and Soulive. Other surprise guests are also expected to appear at #RebelJam.
“On June 26 we hit New York City’s iconic Blue Note Jazz Club to present a brand new concept we’re calling #RebelJam,” said The Soul Rebels co-founder and drummer Lumar LeBlanc. “The idea behind #RebelJam is to bring together some of our favorite artists and friends in a jam session-like environment. Joining us on our upcoming #RebelJam will be our brother Eric Krasno from Soulive and Lettuce. We’ve been playing shows with Eric on a regular basis and going into the studio with him as he’s producing our next record. Eric is an inspiration and we’re blessed to call him a friend and collaborator. We’re thrilled to have our heroes Rakim and Slick Rick joining us at the Blue Note as well as Prodigy, Styles P and Sheek from The Lox. We all grew up on Rakim and he’s a huge inspiration. This will be the second time we’ve played with him live and the third time we’ve performed with Slick Rick. We’re also excited to have some very special surprise guests joining us. Who knows who may show up, maybe even Jay-Z!”
