The Shins confirmed details of their Oh, Inverted World — The 21st Birthday Tour dates. James Mercer and company will perform the band’s 2001 debut studio album in its entirety “plus a nightly rotation of additional fan favorites and deep cuts” at stops across North America between July 12 and September 16.

Oh, Inverted World came out on June 19, 2001. “Everything was so tongue-in-cheek in the indie world of the ’90s,” Mercer recalled. “I remember feeling a longing for some sort of romance in music again, something earnest, like a real attempt at some emotional language.” The album was reissued last year for a 20th anniversary edition remastered by Bob Ludwig.

Red Rocks, The Ryman, Radio City Music Hall, Massey Hall and the Chicago Theatre are among the venues The Shins will hit before closing out the trek in their current hometown of Portland, Oregon on September 16.
