The Revivalists Unveil Jamiroquai Cover & Originals At New Year’s Eve Run In New Orleans

The Revivalists settled in at the Orpheum Theater in their hometown of New Orleans for a two-night New Year’s Eve run on December 30 and 31. A handful of new originals were debuted over the course of the run as was a stellar cover of Jamiroquai’s “Virtual Insanity.”

The action started on December 30 with RevHeads Ball, a stripped-down theater show in the round. RevHeads Ball saw The Revivalists perform such rarities as “Alive,” “When I’m With You,” “Pour It Out Into The Night,” “Wait For The Sun, “Hurricane Winslow” and “Up In The Air.” Next came the public premieres of originals “Blood On The River,” “Razor Blades and Runaways,” and “Lost And Found.”

The Revivalists’ first “To Love Somebody” (Bee Gees) cover of 2025 followed along with the year’s second “Not Turn Away.” Frontman David Shaw and his bandmates tacked on their recently debuted version of the Radiohead classic “High & Dry” for good measure to end RevHeads Ball 2026.

On New Year’s Eve, the octet trotted out all three original debuts unveiled the previous night for their second-ever performances, along with fellow new tune “Heart Stop.” Member of opening act The Rumble teamed with The Revivalists for “Piece Of Me (aka Cigar Box)” before the string of new originals. Fan-favorite “You and I” led into a joyous version of the Take Good Care standout “Celebration.” Fittingly, The Revivalists used the song for a countdown into 2026.

Shaw and Company then performed their recently debuted cover of Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers’ “American Girl” to the delight of the crowd. “Criminal” brought the main set to its conclusion but another surprise awaited. The Revivalists put their own spin on “Virtual Insanity” as part of a three-song encore that also included beloved gems “It Was A Sin” and “Wish I Knew You.”
