The Killers headlined the Sea.Hear.Now. Festival on Saturday in Asbury Park. Frontman Brandon Flowers and company fittingly delivered a cover of Bruce Spirngsteen’s “I’m On Fire” in the Jersey Shore locale where The Boss performed frequently early in his career.

The Bruce nod comes on the heels of The Killers welcoming the man himself — The Killers latest album, 2021’s Pressure Machine, was heavily influenced by Springsteen — during an October 2022 concert at Madison Square Garden. While Bruce — who recently had to potpone shows due to a peptic ulcer disease — didn’t make an encore Killers appearance at Sea.Hear.Now., the band sent the New Jersey native some Greetings from Asbury Park, N.J. — the title of Springsteen’s 1973 debut album.

The Killers, however, delivered a song from Bruce’s landmark 1984 album, Born In The U.S.A., about three quarters of the way through their set when Flowers led a stripped-down sing-along on “I’m On Fire.” Watch below:

The Killers kicked off their Sea.Hear.Now set with the Hot Fuss hit, “Mr. Brightside.” The festival also saw Flowers and company performing additional favorites from The Killers’ 2004 debut album including “Smile Like You Mean It,” “Somebody Told Me” and “All These Things That I’ve Done.”

The band had three songs from their 2020 album Imploding The Mirage op tap: “Running Towards A Place,” “Dying Breed” and “Caution.” Additionally, The Killers dipped from their 2006 album Sam’s Town, bringing up a fan to drum on “Reasons Unknown” and closing their Sea.Hear.Now set with “When We Were Young.”

But Brandon Flowers wasn’t done. The frontman headed down to the Asbury Park venue Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band made famous, The Stone Pony, to perform more Boss with the Tangiers Blues Band, whose harmonica player is famed music photographer Danny Clinch. E Street Band saxophonist Jake Clemons also made an appearance. Watch Brandon and the band collaborate on “The Promised Land” below:
