The Infamous Stringdusters shared a new single, “I Didn’t Know.” The song will appear on the bluegrass quintet’s forthcoming album, Toward The Fray, due out via Americana Vibes on February 18.
The Infamous Stringdusters — fiddler Jeremy Garrett, guitarist Andy Falco, banjo player Chris Pandolfi, dobroist Andy Hall and bassist Travis Book — announced Toward The Fray in October and shared the title track. The Dusters followed with second single “Hard Line” and now, “I Didn’t Know,” which features Circles Around The Sun drummer Mark Levy.
Jeremy Garrett wrote “I Didn’t Know” with renowned bluegrass songsmith Jon Weisberger. Jeremy detailed the events that spurred him to write “I Didn’t Know’ in a press release.
“This song was written during the pandemic and just after George Floyd was murdered,” Garrett said. “From my vantage point, this song is both a reaction to write about what I saw and what was on my heart, but also about being a white person and being blind to what’s been happening to our Black brothers and sisters and acknowledging this and now being part of the conversation toward change, justice, and healing.”
