This evening, Suwannee Hulaween begins at The Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park in Live Oak, Florida. Tomorrow, South Florida-based jam act The Heavy Pets are scheduled to perform at the SCI-headlined festival and it won’t be just another gig for the fellas.

The Heavy Pets’ set at Suwannee Hulaween will mark the band’s 1,00th performance. The group reaches the milestone one day before the ninth anniversary of their first performance on November 2, 2005. After nearly a decade of touring the group shows no signs of slowing, touring relentlessly and releasing two vinyl EP’s so far this year with a third, Stolen Smiles, due out in November.

“Hitting 1000 shows is something we are certainly proud of,” said guitarist Jeff Lloyd, “but it’s as much about looking forward as it is about looking back.”

The Heavy Pets’ set at Hulaween is scheduled to begin at 3:15 p.m. on the mainstage and the band has some special guests planned. “We want to show our appreciation for all the Pets, former and current, including our family and fans and friends and everyone that helped us keep this going. We have much to be thankful for but this is still just the beginning,” Lloyd added.
