The Disco Biscuits Conclude April 2021 ‘Showtime At The Drive In’ Run

The Disco Biscuits wrapped up their two-night Showtime At The Drive In run in Frederick, Maryland on Saturday. The livetronica pioneers delivered a number of festive-themed songs as well as an optimistic encore.

The Disco Biscuits — bassist Marc Brownstein, guitarist Jon Gutwillig, keyboardist Aron Magner and drummer Allen Aucoin — launched the first set with “Caterpillar.” The Brownstein composed number debuted under different monikers with various Brownie side projects in the early aughts, as per Phantasy Tour, but has since become a tDB staple. “Caterpillar” would encompass the Magner composed “The Great Abyss” ahead of the relatively new tune, “4th Of July,” which the band unveiled on November 21, 2019 at Higher Ground in Burlington, Vermont. “4th Of July” would lead into the vintage “House Dog Party Favor” to close out the four-song first frame.

Bisco kept the festive numbers rolling with “Strobelights & Martinis” to begin the second set which headed into “We Like To Party.” “WLTP” then segued into an inverted version of the classic “Confrontation” before the band finished up “Strobelights.” “Tricycle” and “Spraypaint Victory” brought the seamless second set to a close. The Disco Biscuits would conclude the evening and run with an encore of “Hope.”
