The Avett Brothers Announce 2019 Red Rocks Dates

An announcement from The Avett Brothers brings one tradition to a close and continues another one. Scott Avett and Seth Avett will bring their band back to Red Rocks in Morrison, Colorado for three shows over July 4th Weekend spanning July 5 – 7. The news confirms the conclusion of a run of Umphrey’s McGee shows at the famed venue over the holiday weekend.

The Avetts will be joined by Lake Street Dive on July 7 with support for Friday and Saturday to be announced at a later date as will further details and information. 2019 will be the sixth year in a row The Avett Brothers play three shows at Red Rocks. The venue hosted two-night stands from the band in 2012 and 2013. As for Umphrey’s McGee, the group had Red Rocks on lock for at least one day of the holiday weekend dating back to 2010 with the exceptions of 2012 and 2013. Neither band has performed at Red Rocks on Independence Day itself, as Blues Traveler has headlined the venue on July 4 dating back to 1994 with the exception of 1999.
