The Allman Brothers Band Partial Reunion At Gathering Of The Vibes

On Friday afternoon legendary keyboardist Gregg Allman played a set when his sensational solo band at this year’s Gathering Of The Vibes in Bridgeport, Connecticut. The set came to a peak when Gregg invited two of his former The Allman Brothers Band mates to jam on a song written by Dickey Betts. Gregg, whose band also includes former ABB percussionist Marc Quiñones, introduced “Southbound” as written by the great Dickey Betts and proceeded to tackle the tune with special guests Derek Trucks on guitar and Jaimoe on drums. Allman recently extended an olive branch to Betts, with whom he has a long-running feud. Both Derek and Jaimoe were on hand for sets with their current outfits, the Tedeschi Trucks Band and Jaimoe’s Jasssz Band.
