Tedeschi Trucks Band Welcome Jimmie Vaughan & David Hidalgo At Beacon Theatre

While March was The Allman Brothers Band’s chance to shine at the Beacon Theatre in New York City, the Tedeschi Trucks Band continues a tradition of fall shows at the venerable theater with four performances spread out through two weekends. The first of the four shows took place on Friday night and featured a pair of special guests.

Los Lobos kicked off the festivities with a set that included a cover of the Grateful Dead’s “Bertha,” while later the band’s guitarist – David Hidalgo – sat-in with the Tedeschi Trucks Band. However the evening’s first guest was blues-rock legend Jimmie Vaughan. The Austin guitarist added to “Dirty Work At The Crossroads” and “Boom Bapa Boom” towards the middle of the TTB’s main set. A few songs later Hidalgo emerged to help out on “Delta Lady” and “Keep On Growing.” Derek, Susan and the band said farewell for the night with an encore of “Let’s Go Get Stoned” and “Get What You Deserve.” The run continues at NYC’s Beacon Theatre on Saturday night.
