Tedeschi Trucks Band Busts Out The Band Cover At Red Rocks

Tedeschi Trucks Band closed out a two-night run at Colorado’s iconic Red Rocks Amphitheatre on Saturday night on their 2019 Wheels of Soul Tour. TTB would bust out a cover of The Band’s “Don’t Do It” for the first time since New Year’s Eve 2011 and also welcomed members of opening acts Blackberry Smoke and Shovels & Rope.

“Don’t Do It” kicked off the show and featured Blackberry Smoke’s Charlie Starr and Richard Turner. “Do I Look Worried” followed ahead of a cover of The Beatles’ “Within In You Without You.” “Just As Strange” and “I’m Gonna Be There” came next before The Derek And The Dominos cover “Keep On Growing.”

TTB then ran through a slew of covers including Sleepy John Estes’ “Leavin’ Trunk,” “Volunteered Slavery” by Rashaan Roland Kirk, Bob Dylan’s “Don’t Think Twice, It’s Alright” with Shovels & Rope and “Don’t Keep Me Wonderin’” by The Allman Brothers Band. “Laugh About It” came next followed by two more covers in Joe Tex’s “Show Me” and Charles Segar’s “Key To The Highway” with Starr once again sitting-in.

TTB continued with “Bound For Glory” ahead of “The Storm” which led into set closer “Whipping Post” from The Allman Brothers. The band would encore with Sly & The Family Stone’s “Sing a Simple Song / I Want to Take You Higher” on which they welcomed Shovels & Rope and members of Blackberry Smoke.
