Tedeschi Trucks Band posted pro-shot video of “Soul Sweet Song,” a tune written in tribute to the late great TTB keyboardist Kofi Burbridge. The footage was filmed at the band’s Greek Theatre concert in Berkeley, California on August 20, 2022.
Keyboardist Gabe Dixon wrote “Soul Sweet Song” with vocalist/guitarist Mike Mattison. Tedeschi Trucks Band included the track on I Am The Moon: Episode IV. Farewell, the fourth and final installment of their four-album I Am The Moon project. Farewell arrived on August 26.
“This is a new song. This is a song dedicated to our old band member Kofi Burbridge,” Susan Tedeschi told the crowd before the performance. “Just gonna send this one out to Kofi. Thank you to Gabe and Mike for writing these beautiful lyrics and Derek (Trucks).” Kofi Burbridge passed away on February 15, 2019.
